About The Position

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an IT (Information Technology) Senior Manager. The Senior Manager will have oversight and responsibility for all IT operations, systems, and infrastructure. This person will lead our IT team in providing overall IT services to internal and external customers and ensure integrity and availability of information systems. Requirements

• BS degree in a related field (industry certifications are desired)
• 15+ years of experience in Information Systems (IS) or technically related field (experience in leading technical teams is highly desired)
• Managerial experience with a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of government and industry standards and the ability to implement secure information systems
• Customer service-oriented personality with a keen focus on project and the mission
• Follows through on commitments and assignments
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to make difficult decisions quickly
• Demonstrated ability to solve large and complex issues
• Trusted by team, leadership, and customers
• Competent in managing budgets and schedules
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a US Government Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Works with division leadership to strategically plan Information System goals, initiatives, and organizational structures
• Leads large team of IS professionals; responsible for motivating, training, delegating, and holding accountable all employees of the team
• Responsible for budgeting and resource management for IT needs
• Responsible for all IS projects and supervising individual project managers
• Responsible for maintaining a secure network environment, identifying, managing, and mitigating risks
• Works closely with Lab stakeholders to support all SDL networks
• Participates in proposals to identify and support program needs
• Assists in policy development and procedure enforcement
• Ensures systems are properly designed, maintained, licensed, monitored, documented, protected, secured, available, and supported
• Develops and monitors IT metrics
• Ensures all appropriate compliance and audit requirements are implemented; serves as a representative in IT audits
