About The Position

The Senior Infrastructure / Systems Manager is responsible for the design, reliability, security, and scalability of the company’s IT infrastructure and core systems. This role provides technical leadership and operational ownership across on-prem, cloud, networking, identity, and enterprise platforms while managing internal staff and external partners. This position is both hands-on and strategic, ensuring day-to-day stability while driving long-term infrastructure modernization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure / systems engineering
  • 3+ years in a senior or managerial role
  • Strong experience with:
  • Windows Server, Linux (preferred)
  • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
  • Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls)
  • Cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Experience with:
  • Hybrid cloud environments
  • Automation / scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Security or cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, CISSP, CCNP, etc.)
  • Experience supporting ERP, data platforms, or large enterprise applications

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage enterprise infrastructure including:
  • Servers (physical & virtual
  • Storage and backups
  • Networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar)
  • Identity & access management (AD, Entra ID / Azure AD, SSO, MFA)
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery across all systems
  • Lead capacity planning, system upgrades, and lifecycle management
  • Define and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Support audits and compliance initiatives (SOC, SOX, PCI, HIPAA, etc. as applicable)
  • Own incident response for infrastructure-related outages or security events
  • Oversee monitoring, alerting, and uptime SLAs
  • Lead root-cause analysis for incidents and outages
  • Improve automation using scripting and infrastructure-as-code where appropriate
  • Manage backup, recovery testing, and business continuity planning
  • Develop and execute the infrastructure roadmap
  • Drive cloud adoption / hybrid strategies where appropriate
  • Evaluate new technologies and make build vs. buy recommendations
  • Align infrastructure strategy with business growth and application needs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop infrastructure and systems engineers
  • Manage MSPs, cloud providers, telcos, and hardware/software vendors
  • Own infrastructure budgets, licensing, and cost optimization
  • Communicate risks, roadmaps, and system health to executive leadership
