The IT Security Operations Associate at South Jersey Industries plays a crucial role in protecting the organization's information technology assets within its critical infrastructure. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the security of technology assets by identifying, evaluating, monitoring, prioritizing, and reporting on IT/OT security operations-related events and incidents. The associate will provide information security services to employees and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures while working in a hybrid security operations team.

  • Partner with stakeholders for various business processes supported by information security.
  • Aid in the management and maintenance of various security systems, tools, and applications, resolving technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
  • Manage vulnerability scanning and visibility tools and interpret findings.
  • Ensure critical security applications are up to date.
  • Triage the IT Security ticket queue ensuring proper routing for resolution.
  • Provide direct support to SJI's user community on security-related issues.
  • Support the cyber security incident response process.
  • Talented at Microsoft Office 365, specifically with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Power B.I.
  • Skilled at problem solving and breaking down complex issues into actionable tasks.
  • Superb communication and technical presentation skills with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and maintain a positive attitude while managing multiple tasks.
  • Capable of working independently, with a strong sense of task ownership and self-motivation.
  • Intellectual curiosity, with the ability to think critically and creatively and research unknown topics.
  • Understanding of fundamental security concepts and technology.
  • Proven work or internship experience in Cyber Security or Information Technology.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise security tools.
  • IT certification such as Security+, Network+, or A+.
