About The Position

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding the credit union’s information systems and data assets by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security measures. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, identifies vulnerabilities, and proactively mitigates risks to protect against cyber threats. The IT Security Analyst works closely with IT leadership and business units to maintain a secure and resilient technology environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT security or related role.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and endpoint protection.
  • Excellent analytical, customer support, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have working technical knowledge of networks, servers, PCs, and operating systems.
  • Must have experience with data management.
  • Must be flexible with working hours.
  • Work schedules occasionally change on short notice to cover unexpected business needs. Available to respond to network issues/problems on a 24/7 basis.
  • Licensed driver, ability to travel from location to location.
  • Frequent standing, walking, telephone, and computer use, lifting to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM). Preferred 4-year degree in Information Technology with a cybersecurity focus
  • CISSP, Security+, CISM preferred (alternatives: CEH, CCSP, CompTIA CySA+Ability, and aptitude to analyze and resolve highly technical problems relating to network server and infrastructure issues.)
  • Will have hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Will be adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Will have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the security and protection of the credit union through the IT network and security systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with the VP of IS&T, IT Leadership, and other necessary teams in all discussions relevant to project management pertinent to IT.
  • Supports in administering and maintaining antivirus, patch, and vulnerability management systems.
  • Responsible for Monitoring, Alerting, and auditing security controls and policies.
  • Serves as the backup for the Network Administrator or performs other duties as required.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and all regulatory requirements. Assist with audits and prepare compliance documentation.
