About The Position

Provide daily operational information security support to the UF Health Shands enterprise. Support information security initiatives throughout the enterprise. Act as a resource for UF Health Shands departments and units on technical information security matters. Must be comfortable working in ambiguous and/or stressful situations. Flexibility and the ability to change priorities quickly are often required of this position. On-call support responsibilities are required.

Requirements

• BS degree and 3 years IT experience, at least one of which must be within a broad, complex multi-facility organization working with at least 1 of the following technologies and processes: firewalls, virtual private networks, network access control, security information and event monitoring, intrusion prevention or detection systems, vulnerability management, penetration testing, incident handling, risk assessments, system security, or computer forensics.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a BS degree.
• The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization to resolve information security problems.
• Demonstrated and applied knowledge of security procedures, protocols and tools.
• Must be able to gather, organize and analyze information and develop solutions aligned with the business requirements and constraints.

Nice To Haves

• Industry recognized IT security professional certification(s) from organizations such as SANS/GIAC, EC Council, ISC2 or ISACA is preferred.
