About The Position

This position is responsible for providing support for customer identity verification and assisting with Identity and Access Management (IAM) activities. The role involves collecting and analyzing data to validate identities, using automated systems and manual processes when necessary. The position requires direct interaction with customers, particularly in the Madison, WI area, to ensure the safeguarding of personal information and recommend enhancements to identity verification processes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management and Customer Service/support.
• Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with customers via phone, video calls, and in-person.
• Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and empathize with customers.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and transaction codes within technical applications.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in recording and updating system information.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and multi-factor authentication concepts.
• Understanding of agency audit and compliance requirements.
• Experience providing user administration in a Windows environment using tools such as Entra ID, Active Directory, and MS Authenticator.

Nice To Haves

• Experience verifying individual identities using identity proofing tools and software.
• Experience detecting and investigating fraud related to system access attempts.
• Experience handling identity proofing/verification in-person or remotely online.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for customer identity verification to confirm authenticity of information.
• Collect and analyze data to validate identities using demographic information and software tools.
• Provide backup support for Identity and Access Management (IAM) activities.
• Assist users with automated identity proofing systems and processes.
• Analyze reasons for identity verification failures and determine next steps for assistance.
• Offer alternatives for identity verification when automated systems are not feasible, including in-person meetings.
• Collaborate with business partners to safeguard personal information and data.
• Recommend process and service enhancements for identity proofing and verification.
• Manage user provisioning, onboarding, and offboarding processes in IAM.
• Prepare documentation and reviews for audits and act as the point of contact for audit issues.
