The IT Risk & Compliance Intern at MKS Instruments provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends. This internship runs from May to August 2026 and includes meaningful work and project assignments, networking opportunities with peers and executives, exposure to different divisions of the business, and an understanding of MKS Instruments' commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Partner with IT stakeholders and team members to support the IT SOX control testing.
  • Assess IT processes and identify control gaps in areas such as access to data, change management, IT operations, backup and recovery, IT project management, cyber security, business continuity plan/disaster recovery, third party SOC reports reviews, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform risk-based IT system audits in areas including applications, databases, operating systems, network, and active directory.
  • Close assigned audit scope within the targeted timeline and escalate delays to management.
  • Produce clear and concise work paper documentation and store testing documentation and control evidence in Audit Board.
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting).
  • Understanding of COSO internal control framework, IT General Controls (ITGC) Risk-and Control-Matrix, control design and operating effectiveness of ITGCs, Segregation of Duty, SOC Report analysis.
  • Conceptual understanding and interest in tools & technical processes including identity & access management, database management, software development and quality assurance methodologies, change management, vulnerability management, penetration testing, data loss prevention, batch processing, business continuity/disaster recovery planning, enterprise architecture, telecommunications, and data center operations.
  • High level of initiative, ownership, continuous improvement, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour.
