The IT Repair and Deployment Specialist ensures the successful and timely deployment of computers to faculty and staff, both new and re-issued. This includes the acquisition, setup, maintenance, and deployment processes. The technician is responsible for troubleshooting and handling software and hardware repairs of devices. They work with technical staff to approve new computer models and maintain vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of new products. The technician also orders products as needed to keep in-house stock at appropriate levels. Additionally, they supervise and work with student technicians in imaging, setting up, and deploying computers to campus offices. Gathering feedback from customers and Area Consultants to improve processes is also a key part of the role.
