About The Position

Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) seeks a Graduate Computer Engineer to be part of the Information Technology (IT) Quality and Yield Management Team in South Portland, ME. The role of the IT Quality and Yield Management Engineer is critical in maintaining and improving the operational effectiveness of the Diodes’ global quality systems. The Q&YM Engineer role is primarily to administer, maintain and develop software directed at Engineering analysis and reporting, Data Management and Analysis and Quality systems administration and maintenance. This position will report to the MAKE IT Quality and Yield Management Manager.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in; Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrable use of a scripting type development language (e.g., Python, TCL/TK)

Nice To Haves

  • Use of Django Framework (Python based)
  • Use of ECharts (JavaScript based Data Visualization Library)
  • Use of database systems such as PostgreSQL
  • A working knowledge of operating systems Linux and Windows 10/11
  • Experience with Azure DevOps

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation to develop and deliver novel solutions to meet an evolving engineering analysis and manufacturing automation environment. The role is one which focuses on continually delivering incremental improvement
  • Understanding of DevOps and various software development lifecycles like Agile and Waterfall
  • An understanding of manufacturing and the IT solutions to enable development of an appropriate solution to meet the needs of the business
  • Development skills to write and reuse software and to interface effectively with other software systems like maintenance, site manufacturing execution system and 3rd party solutions
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively to deliver solutions meeting the needs of manufacturing, equipment engineering, process engineering and IT
  • Ability to document business and systems requirements, data and application designs and effectively communicate with stakeholders
  • Ability to negotiate task priorities and manage time towards successful delivery to stakeholders
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and to present findings, work status, issues to peers, customers and leaders in IT and business
  • Enhance, develop, and deploy solutions across multiple systems in support of manufacturing (e.g., maintenance, non-conforming material, and engineering analysis)
  • Ability to troubleshoot code and/or process issues in a diverse manufacturing environment to ensure continuity of the manufacturing operation and implement toot cause solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Ability to work with diverse and cross functional teams, like Infrastructure, IT Security and Helpdesk located in Asia, Europe, and USA.
  • Ability to learn and develop is an essential, as manufacturing needs and solutions will change over the next five years
