About The Position

The IT Project Manager is a hands-on delivery role accountable for driving complex, multi-system IT projects to successful completion. This role actively plans and executes work, coordinates and challenges resourcing assumptions, owns testing and implementation readiness, and maintains tight control of risks, issues, and dependencies. The Project Manager works primarily with IT teams while partnering with operations, finance, and accounting to ensure solutions are practical, well-tested, and delivered with minimal disruption. Success in this role requires strong follow-through, clear escalation, comfort pushing back on scope or timelines when risk is introduced, and a willingness to ask questions early and often.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT projects from initiation through implementation
  • Strong working knowledge of formal project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, or hybrid)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams across complex, multi-system environments
  • Experience planning and executing functional testing and user acceptance testing
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and scope while balancing competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and escalate issues when necessary
  • Experience: 3–5 years enterprise IT project experience
  • 1-2 years managing a project
  • General experience with point-of-sale, ecommerce, payment, and/or ERP applications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or related field that stresses critical thinking. Practical experience is also considered.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain actionable project plans that clearly define scope, milestones, dependencies, and ownership
  • Determine required resources, confirm commitment, and hold teams accountable for completing assigned work
  • Own functional testing and user acceptance testing, including test planning, execution coordination, defect tracking, and go/no-go readiness
  • Drive implementation planning and execution across multiple systems and applications
  • Maintain and actively manage RAID items, escalating issues early and proposing mitigation paths
  • Enforce delivery discipline by managing scope, schedule, and trade-offs when constraints change
  • Provide clear, concise status updates that surface risks and decisions needed, not just activity
  • Actively challenge assumptions, ask clarifying questions, and identify gaps that could impact delivery
