The IT Project Manager at McKesson is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of computer-based systems and projects. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality systems to both internal and external customers, acting as a central point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. The project manager collaborates with various stakeholders, manages project scope, and ensures timely delivery of outcomes while maintaining compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program.

  • Oversee the entire development and implementation process of computer-based systems, projects, or programs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality systems to internal and external customers.
  • Act as a central point of contact for projects, guiding them from initial concept to final implementation.
  • Coordinate all project aspects and facilitate communication between clients, systems, line management, and other departments.
  • Set expectations and find efficient customer solutions.
  • Manage project team members and meet project milestones.
  • Control project scope and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
  • Gather and document business requirements, define project scope and objectives, and create detailed project plans and timelines.
  • Proactively address project-related issues and develop effective solutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals.
  • Create and manage work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports.
  • Oversee vendor tasks and ensure their integration into the project, reviewing vendor deliverables.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT project management, requirements definition, and building systems solutions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Project management experience in a technical/IT environment with software application, construction, and infrastructure-style projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects toward effective solutions according to budget and timelines.
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams (onsite, remote, and third-party resources).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills to various levels of the organization.
  • Experience using SDLC and/or agile project methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project and MS Visio, Jira, and Planview.
  • Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Process improvement experience (Six Sigma or Lean certification a plus).
  • Agile and/or Scrum certification or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of ITIL foundations principles and methodology (ITIL certifications a plus).
  • Working knowledge of contract negotiations, resource capacity planning, and budget forecasting.
