What You'll Work On: Planning, leading, and managing personnel responsible for the organization's portfolio of projects and maintains efficiency of important project management aspects such as planning, scheduling, budget and risk assessment. Developing and executing project objectives by collaborating with the customer on needs and goals, project proposals, project plans, and intermediate execution status. Determining project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors. Determining project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards, completing technical studies, and preparing cost estimates. Confirming product performance by designing and conducting tests. Determining and maintaining project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements, and maintaining project schedule. Controlling project plans by reviewing designs, specifications, schedule changes, and recommending actions. Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions. Being responsible for technical and operational leadership of a project and mission within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer. Defining, generating, and reviewing project requirements documentation and performing technical studies to refine project requirements.
