GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY The IT Project Manager oversees all cross-functional projects that are deemed critical to the business, the majority of which will be within the IT organization’s area of accountability. Cross-functional projects would have a Functional Steward while multiple other functions work together to deliver project scope and objectives. Types of cross-functional projects would vary in type; the various functions that can be involved are IT, Design, Delivery, Land Acquisition, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, etc. The IT department at Compass Data Centers includes highly technical projects (Network, Building Technology implementations, Technology upgrades, etc.) and also include the Corporate Systems and Data Governance organization that perform varying degrees of software development, SaaS integrations, and every now and than, implementation of new technologies. Reporting directly to the Director of Program and Project Management, s/he will work with cross-functional teams to maintain and monitor all aspects of the assigned Compass projects. The PM will also be tasked with developing internal customer relationships in order to negotiate deliverable timelines and speak with customers regarding the status of the project, while assisting with the management and the creation of contracts with vendors and individual consultants using standard statements of work and contract conditions. The PM will have a continuously improved Program to follow, and in turn, be a key player in continuously developing said Program. The PM will be utilizing existing tools to successfully manage and run their projects, in addition to creating new tools based on established needs whether within the PMO, or while focusing on the Corporate Systems and Data Governance initiatives.
