About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a mid-level IT Project Manager to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area. Key Duties : Manage the full lifecycle of IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring delivery within defined scope, schedule, and budget. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. Identify project risks and dependencies early and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Lead cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams, providing clear direction and accountability. Monitor project progress, track milestones, and proactively address schedule or performance variances. Manage project budgets and expenditures in accordance with established financial guidelines. Facilitate regular project meetings and ensure timely communication of status, risks, and action items. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, maintaining alignment with business objectives and expectations. Apply project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall to ensure structured and efficient delivery. Ensure project deliverables meet defined quality standards and organizational requirements. Coordinate project governance activities, documentation, and stakeholder approvals. Conduct project closeout activities, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and lessons learned reviews. Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
  • 6 or more years of general, full-time work experience. Years of experience may be reduced with completion of advanced education.
  • 5 or more years of direct experience in IT project management, including managing high-dollar projects.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
  • Current CAPM (Certified Associate of Project Management) certification.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate project teams, providing clear guidance and direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve project issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
