About The Position

The IT Project Manager, JMP will be responsible for the development and implementation of specialty IT systems on the JFK Terminal 6 redevelopment and other developments projects. The role will be required to review and provide feedback on drawings and specifications for IT systems. Responsibilities include managing projects, schedules, milestones, risks, and dependencies across multiple vendors and stakeholders while ensuring alignment with budget, scope, and regulatory requirements. The position demands strong coordination skills to drive design reviews, support operational readiness planning, and ensure seamless execution from planning through commissioning. This role will be critical for ensuring technical operational efficiency; all in an effort to help provide a seamless passenger and guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT roles with increasingly progressive responsibility for applications, systems and infrastructure development, preferably in a decentralized, highly regulated global environment such as an airline operator.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated technical project management experience while leading teams
  • 3+ years of external vendor management experience
  • Excellent partnering and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead through influence and have proven project management expertise.
  • Ability to work in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for learning new systems and industry specific information
  • Experience with Microsoft development tools, also Office365 and SharePoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate both technically and non-technically.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or relevant equivalent degree is required.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance and other associated authorization status may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data warehouse solutions, business intelligence technologies and tools, and analytics design is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct project management and oversight of IT systems delivery, including coordination of design reviews, technical requirements, and implementation milestones.
  • Review and provide feedback on shop drawings, constructability, functionality, and maintainability of proposed systems and infrastructure while ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review Tender Set, and Construction set Drawings and Specifications for Information Technology Systems specifically; Common Use systems (Self-Serve Kiosks, Airport Operating Data Base (AODB), Resource Management System (RMS), Information Displays (FIDs, BID’s, GID’s, RID’s), Wi-Fi, Security (CCTV & Access Control), Building Management System (BMS), Maximo asset management, Utility metering, SCADA, Ramp Monitoring Systems, Operations Center Display Systems, Fiber-optic, structured cabling and network distribution and redundancy, Entertainment TV, Public Address, TOR & Cellular DAS, IPTV, Telephone, ISP Telco provider and IT related systems (Fire Alarm, Baggage System, Vertical & Horizontal Transport, Passenger Boarding Bridges).
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with the Design Build Joint Venture (DBJV), Master Systems Integrator (MSI), JMP project team, and stakeholders to support seamless execution and mitigate risks throughout all phases of the Terminal 6 redevelopment at JFK Airport. Maintain proactive communication, documentation, and change management to ensure timely decision-making and successful project outcomes.
  • Review IT systems design and architecture for points of failure and ensure sufficient system redundancies are implemented to prevent a catastrophic failure of any one IT system required for Airport Operations. Support Operations in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) for key systems and troubleshooting steps to restore systems to an operating state.
  • Review and assist in the development of RFP requirements for Commissioning, Testing, Maintenance support and Operations of specialty IT systems.
  • Assist the JMP Team in the development of long-term service and Operations & maintenance programs for IT equipment installed under the project.
  • Assist the Design Builder with various tasks related to procurement, evaluation and selection of key contractors and vendors who will be instrumental in delivering the low voltage and IT related scope.
  • Review and provide input and feedback to tenant design drawings and specifications for coordination with base building IT Systems and integration.
  • Work closely with the Design Builder and JMP Team on testing, commissioning, and operational transition activities, including live trials, development of operational contingency plans, familiarization, and training activities.
  • Participate in IT related deficiency inspections for the various project phases; record defects and assess the value of work to be corrected.
  • Assist in the identification of existing low voltage services in the existing Terminal 7 Facility as required to facilitate demolition and continued operation of Terminal 7 until Phase 1 of Terminal 6 is activated.
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned.
