The Project Manager III (PM III) holds a key role within the HHS IT Project Management Office (PMO), undertaking advanced project management duties of varying complexity. This position oversees IT projects to ensure approved scope is delivered punctually, within budgetary constraints, and in accordance with defined requirements. Exercising moderate discretion and independent judgement, the PM III provides effective leadership and applies extensive project management expertise to achieve desired project outcomes. The Project Manager III is the liaison between IT project teams and stakeholders at all levels, both inside and outside the organization. This role works across teams and divisions in a matrixed environment, consulting, negotiating, advising clients, ensuring quality assurance, planning, and managing projects in line with IT PMO standards. Duties include overseeing scope, timelines, and budgets, preparing reports, reviewing schedules, managing documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and carrying out additional assignments as needed. An ideal candidate is organized, motivated, a strong leader, and skilled at building relationships and solving problems within complex organizations. This position is based in the Austin office. Selected candidate must work onsite from an HHS office located in Austin, Texas designated by the hiring manager.
