About The Position

The IT Program Manager is accountable for the successful management of information technology program initiatives, including multiple large projects for existing systems, and the design and development of new systems. The position’s responsibilities include business requirements documentation, timely project management, control and dissemination of all necessary supporting documentation including risks, budgets, project plans, and vendor information, in a manner conducive to effective project implementation and successful completion. The position requires the ability to actively engage, coordinate, and manage vendors and Information Technology resources to ensure successful project implementations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing large Information Technology projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Business Analyst capacity.
  • Hospitality systems, business analytics, solution delivery, and process experience required.
  • Direct experience with project management, product or software development lifecycles, business analytics, and quality assurance.
  • Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methods.
  • PMI certification required and bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, including upper levels of corporate management.
  • Self-sufficient, requiring limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations, and successful project completion.
  • Proven project management skills and strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan and manage own work with clear accountability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong reasoning ability, analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, able to build business partnerships with end users or IT and influence outcomes.
  • Strong meeting facilitation, documentation, planning and management skills with a solid attention to details.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, Excel, and Smartsheet preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospitality systems required (e.g., Opera, LMS, HotSOS, Delphi).

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, and drives for timely completion of IT projects.
  • Coordinates with vendors and monitors their progress.
  • Creates timeline and cost presentations for senior leadership.
  • Facilitates technical and non-technical project meetings, requirements gathering sessions, records minutes, documents decisions, documents requirements, and drives timely closure of action items.
  • Model and document current state business processes, functionality, and gaps to assist stakeholders in defining future state, requirements, success metrics, and establish a plan to track, monitor, and measure success.
  • Lead the creation and organization of final business requirements documentation, visual process maps, and user stories ensuring complement line-of-sight traceability from requirements, build, test, to run.
  • Collaborate with the systems analyst to document technical requirements and identify metric driven acceptance criteria gaining feedback and facilitate decisions/alignment from the business.
  • Document the complex areas of project scope, objectives, value add, or benefit expectations for large-sized projects being adept within an environment that may be ambiguous.
  • Manage and document business requirements and prioritization within the Product Backlog through business value ROI, alignment with business and product strategy, to enhance the solutions approach.
  • Creates and maintains project plans and schedules for all projects.
  • Manages, tracks, and reports on risks, scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timing.
  • Works with the project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charters which outline scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timing.
  • Serves as liaison between team members and the management team requesting the project.
  • Communicates project status with end user, project team and project sponsors/stakeholders.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with senior leadership and functional managers throughout business areas.
  • Works with project sponsor and team to ensure all functional and technical requirements are met with project completion.
  • Drives organization change management (OCM) activities including user acceptance testing, communications, and end-user training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
