About The Position

The IT Professional 3 - Network Administration position is a critical role within the Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation (DETR) Information Technology Division. This position involves analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and modifying computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and information security. The incumbent will perform advanced journey-level duties under general direction and may also train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff. Additionally, the role may involve serving as a project leader and directing the activities of a branch IT support unit, overseeing projects of limited scope, and coordinating activities with other work groups. The position is situated within the Technical Services Unit, which is responsible for supporting the networking and telecommunications solutions utilized by the department. The incumbent will work closely with other IT professionals, focusing on evolving the department's network infrastructure. The networking and telecommunications group consists of a mix of IT Professional 2 and IT Professional 3 positions that support infrastructure throughout the state, reporting to a supervisor in Carson City, NV. This role is essential for ensuring that the department's IT systems are efficient, secure, and capable of meeting the needs of the agency and the communities it serves. DETR is dedicated to providing job training and placement, vocational rehabilitation, and workplace discrimination services, as well as collecting and analyzing workforce and economic data.
