About The Position

The IT Product Owner leads the development and evolution of RaceTrac’s web and mobile experiences—including native iOS and Android apps and modern web platforms. In this role, you’ll take ideas from concept to delivery by translating business needs into clear, actionable work that engineering teams can execute. You’ll serve as the key connection between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring every feature is well-defined, feasible, and aligned with our goal of creating simple, seamless experiences for both our guests and store teams. This role is ideal for someone who is highly technical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced Agile environment. You’ll also have the opportunity to leverage AI tools and automation to streamline workflows, improve delivery quality, and drive efficiency across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in an Agile environment
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements and user stories
  • Experience supporting web and/or mobile digital products
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with web and mobile technologies (iOS/Swift, Android/Java or Kotlin, HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Experience working with APIs, mobile SDKs, and app distribution processes (App Store, Google Play, Firebase)
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Exposure to data and analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, Databricks, Google/Firebase Analytics)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or broader SDLC practices
  • Familiarity with UX/design tools like Figma
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) or building automation/AI agents

Responsibilities

  • Lead Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews) and partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering, UX, QA, and cross-functional teams across web, mobile, API, and platform
  • Own updates and enhancements to web and mobile applications, proactively communicating impacts to stakeholders across the business
  • Translate business needs into clear, detailed, and technically precise user stories and acceptance criteria that enable efficient, high-quality development
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering teams during sprints—clarifying requirements, answering questions, and removing blockers
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure salable well-designed solutions
  • Partner with other Product Owners and Product Managers to ensure aligned delivery across the broader technology ecosystem
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and define features with attention to edge cases, performance, security, accessibility, and analytics tracking
  • Partner with stakeholders to plan and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring solutions meet both business and technical expectations
  • Build and manage a well-prioritized product backlog, balancing business value, technical dependencies, and delivery timelines
  • Participate in demos and lead acceptance of completed work to ensure alignment and quality
  • Use data, user feedback, and performance insights (including analytics and crash reporting) to continuously improve products
  • Contribute to product strategy and roadmap planning by identifying opportunities and incorporating stakeholder feedback
  • Leverage AI tools and automation (including AI agents) to enhance user story creation, test case generation, and backlog management
