About The Position
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is excited to announce an opportunity to serve as an IT Portfolio Manager in our Information Technology Division, located in Richmond, Virginia. This role will provide direction and leadership support for ITD activities and systems that enhance mission-critical business operations across the organization. The Portfolio Manager will specialize in pre-project planning to include procurement and vendor management and provide effective management of ITD people, processes, policies, and technology. The individual should also be versed in the development of enterprise technology strategy and implement plans to achieve the strategic direction set by the Assistant Division Administrator regarding oversight of our project portfolio. This manager will be responsible for ensuring alignment with organizational goals and VITA, DHRM, VDOT, and ITD policies as well as have a focus on maximizing project predictability, minimizing risks, managing the ITD budget, and delivering value to stakeholders by applying robust project planning and project management practices.
