About The Position

Provide leadership and management oversight to less experienced IT Portfolio Managers. Proactively identifies opportunities for improving IT portfolio performance to provide a competitive advantage to the business and finds ways to improve the business through the use of technology. Responsible for leadership, planning, and direction of the IT and business portfolio. Partner with executive IT leadership to understand current commitments and determine future plans. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Provide leadership, planning and direction for Portfolio Management including setting goals/objectives, budget administration, resource planning, teammate development, hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews, establishing (and ensuring adherence to) policies and procedures and removing obstacles to team success. 2. Lead a team to facilitate portfolio alignment with business strategy, justification and business value, and enable enterprise prioritization of projects, portfolio balancing and resource allocation to maximize value. 3. Responsible for the overall development and ongoing management of a governance framework and enterprise processes for resource/time management, demand management and portfolio management. Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices. 4. May play lead role or technical consultant role in large or complex projects or initiatives. Bachelor's degree and twelve years of experience in IT or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. 2. Meeting management, conflict management, and presentation skills. 3. Ability to plan effectively. 4. Ability to manage client expectations and relationship in a way that results in an effective team environment. 5. Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge of portfolio management. 6. Ability to translate business strategies and emerging external trends to organizational and operational tactics. Ability to solve unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational problems 7. Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives. 8. Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems. 9. Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master's degree or MBA and twelve years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, including five years of management experience. 2. Banking or financial services experience.
