This position can be based in the Firm's global operations center in Tampa, FL or in our Dallas office. General Description: We are seeking an IT Portfolio Governance Manager to join our team. The IT Portfolio Governance Manager will ensure the organization's project portfolio is strategically aligned, effectively prioritized, and consistently executed. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining governance frameworks, driving portfolio-level oversight, and enabling informed decision-making across business units. The incumbent will serve as a key liaison between senior leadership, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and successful delivery of initiatives that support organizational goals. This position offers a hybrid schedule, providing flexibility to work from home or the office. Currently, this role requires weekly in-office attendance, as well as participation in occasional team meetings, training sessions, and firm-sponsored events.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of portfolio and project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile).
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Firsthand experience in project management software and portfolio tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, ServiceNow).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a demanding environment.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, project management, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in project/portfolio governance, program management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing governance frameworks and managing enterprise-level portfolios.
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Portfolio Management (e.g., PfMP).
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and align department portfolio projects with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Improve and streamline strategies to prioritize projects based on business value and resource availability.
  • Establish and maintain project governance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all projects.
  • Provide oversight and review of project plans, budgets, and schedules to identify potential risks and issues proactively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, department heads, and external partners/vendors.
  • Act as a liaison between the Portfolio Governance Committee and the various business units to ensure clear communication and alignment of project objectives.
  • Use project monitoring tools and industry standards to observe project performance and track metrics including project status, budget variance, and resource utilization.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and achievements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across business functions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices, tools, and techniques to enhance project management capabilities and outcomes.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.
