About The Position

This is an Information Technology Operations based role that supports our Cleveland Engine Plant which builds the 2.0/2.3L Maverick EcoBoost and 3.5 D35 engines that go into our top selling Ford and Lincoln products such as F-150, Explorer, Bronco, Expedition, Navigator, Aviator and more. Our plant also supports the machining of blocks, cranks, and heads for both I4 and V6 EcoBoost. This is an outstanding opportunity to be a member of the Site IT team and assist in reimagining how site IT lends support to the manufacturing team, as we modernize the plant floor with new technology to reduce complexity and increase efficiency. As a member of the Plant IT team, you are directly responsible for maintaining the systems that keep our 3.6 million square foot facility running. Your job responsibilities will require you to provide support that includes technical troubleshooting, data analysis & problem resolution for the applications & infrastructure that the plant uses to machine and assemble I4 and V6 EcoBoost engines. You will also lend your knowledge and experiences to support process improvement efforts toward flexible and lean manufacturing, enabling IIOT for Manufacturing and supporting the existing manufacturing execution systems within the facility. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • “Run and Protect” all IT services at the site, including data centers, network equipment, servers, PCs, mobile devices, and applications. These devices include UPS, Power Distribution Units, fire alarm systems, Cisco switches/routers, load balancers, access points, locate sensors, Windows/Linux servers, ESX servers, Windows/Mac OS devices, DXDs, Process Control Boards, Cisco IP/iphone/android phones along with off the shelf, Ford, and some local applications.
  • Support plant floor equipment throughout the facility (plant floor, overhead conveyors, in steel).
  • Knowledge of Wireless networks and ability to assist in troubleshooting WiFi/Bluetooth issues.
  • Plant networks: OA, MPN and CPN. ACLs and PLCs.
  • Virus protection software: Symantec, FireEye, and Data Center Security
  • Sharepoint to manage and assist plant with sites and to ensure security compliance.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate to global support teams and provide on-site support to those teams as required. During issues provide the teams with plant impact assessments and assist in driving the issue to resolution. This requires the Plant IT manager to have some knowledge of production applications utilized in the plant.
  • Balance business needs, such as 24x7 operations, with IT priorities, such as deployment of critical patches
  • Support a multi-shift operation in a manufacturing plant. Must be able to work flexible hours in support of a multi-shift operation. Requires rotating schedule to support business processes. (Days, nights and or weekends).
  • Align plant and business for production changes/updates/outages. Ensure parties understand timing/impact.
  • Support major business and IT initiatives such as New Model Program launches, hardware/infrastructure/application upgrades, facility changes, IIOT and end user productivity launches. Develop plans to meet critical timing, rollout/rollback/contingency plans and minimize any impact to production.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users on the plant floor. This includes diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, as well as providing training and support to help users effectively utilize technology. In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be required to perform physical activities such and moving assets and equipment on the plant floor. This may involve lifting and carrying medium to heavy objects. To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of IT systems and be comfortable working with a variety of hardware and software applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with site business partners, acting as the “face of IT”
  • Contribute to site’s Operating Committee efforts, as appropriate
  • Enforce IT policy and educate team and plant on policy application
  • Develop and test Disaster Recovery plans. Keep IT leadership appraised of issues, business concerns, and other significant events
  • Supervise site operations team, including GSR, agency, and purchased service resources. Team size depends on site complexity and operating schedule.
  • Manage development of self and team, including technical, leadership skill development and goal setting, and building team succession plans
  • Participate in cyber security initiatives including remediation of cyber issues
