Job Summary Under limited supervision, but according to established procedures, the IT Network Technician is responsible for daily operations, and will assist in the planning, development, implementation, and support of facility network. Providers end users support for hardware and application needs. Assist network administer with network support and development. Assists the HDIS as needed and participates in on-call rotation. Essential Functions Established successful application and capabilities utilizing advanced technical tools related to network Enters support requests into tracking system and assigns ticket number or other identification Interview customers to determine the nature and scope of the customer’s issue, and the appropriate response Diagnoses, resolves and closes customer issues according to service guidelines Promptly escalates issues to higher technical support or management when necessary Documents and reports customer inquiries regarding new/different functionality Provides end-users desktop training and minor hardware/peripheral repair as appropriate Provides support for mobile phones, configures desktop operating systems and servers, and manages account access, password resets and user access privileges Works the IT helpdesk in a timely & courteous manner when needed Diagnose PC issues with resolutions Install operating system on PCs and servers Install standard software and recommend hardware/software upgrades when necessary Support users with email and MS office issues. Support staff with printer issues Create users, groups and authorities in active directories. Work with co-workers on backup rotation and participates in on-call rotation Able to support IP protocols and support IP issues Maintains backup and virus logs, and daily monitoring of network resources Defines and assigns workstation to printers, unlocks users accounts Adheres to safety plans (i.e., body mechanics, universal precautions, fall preventions, etc.) with no error trending Keeps an organized work area and desk clean Other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Post secondary degree preferred
  • 1 - 3 years working with computer and software experience preferred
