Job Description: Job Description: IT Network Administrator II Position Overview: Medaptus is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Network Administrator II to join our team in a healthcare SaaS organization. This role will focus on managing and operating SaaS platforms, deploying IT systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving, committed to optimizing our IT environment to support healthcare operations and compliance. The SaaS hosting application for this role will primarily involve Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position is based in Raleigh, NC, with 75-80% remote work. Preference will be given to local candidates. The candidate must be based in the United States.

SaaS Management and Operations: Oversee the configuration, integration, and management of healthcare-focused SaaS platforms hosted on AWS. Design and implement best practices for AWS SaaS deployments, ensuring scalability and cost efficiency. Deploy, patch, and monitor the Medaptus SaaS applications. Monitor and optimize AWS-based SaaS performance to ensure efficient utilization and uptime critical to healthcare delivery. Conduct regular security audits and implement compliance measures, including HIPAA and HITECH. Position will require working with data classified as HIPAA & Company Confidential.
Network Administration: Design and implement advanced network solutions to support SaaS applications. Maintain and troubleshoot the company’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Work with internal systems and outsource partners to perform regular network security assessments, including penetration testing and risk mitigation strategies. Oversee AD, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management to support a robust IT environment.
Deployment and Configuration: Lead deployment and configuration of IT systems, hardware, and software tailored to healthcare environments. Automate repetitive tasks using advanced scripting and orchestration tools. Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for AWS resources. Manage the lifecycle of software licenses and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
System Monitoring and Maintenance: Perform advanced system monitoring and ensure high availability of critical systems. Review and analyze system and application logs for proactive issue identification and resolution. Implement and manage a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategy. Perform patch management and regular system updates to maintain compliance.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide Level 3/4 technical support for escalated issues. Implement root cause analysis for recurring problems and recommend long-term solutions. Develop and update detailed documentation for technical troubleshooting and processes.
Collaboration and Training: Serve as a technical advisor to cross-functional teams, providing expertise on IT infrastructure. Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to team skill development. Conduct training sessions for end-users on new systems and processes.
Monitoring and Reporting: Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for system and network performance. Create detailed reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting trends and recommendations.
Project Leadership: Lead complex IT projects, including cloud migrations and infrastructure upgrades. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables. Ensure timely completion of projects within budget constraints.
On-Call and Other Duties: Actively participate in and coordinate on-call rotation schedules for TechOps and Support. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to improve organizational capabilities. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT network administration or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Expertise in AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
Advanced knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise-level security practices.
Proficiency in MySQL, MS SQL, and database management best practices.
Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for process automation.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNP, or CompTIA Security+.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Must successfully pass background check
