IT Manager - Portal & Automation Services (Claims)
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager, Claims to lead the technology strategy, delivery, and operations supporting our claims organization, with a strong focus on Guidewire ClaimsCenter in a cloud-based environment. This role is responsible for overseeing system configuration, integrations, upgrades, and performance while partnering closely with Claims business leaders to drive efficiency, compliance, and an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Guidewire expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience managing vendors and cross-functional teams, along with a solid understanding of insurance claims processes, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps practices to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable claims technology solutions. Summary: Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, coordinates and supervises the activities of application programming, development, quality assurance, and project management functions in information technology, by performing the following duties:
Requirements
- Four to six years related experience and/or training
- bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college/university
- equivalent combination of education and related experience/training
- ability to work legally in the United States
- No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Responsibilities
- Manages the application programming and development function in information technology
- Manages the quality assurance of the information technology function
- Oversees the execution of project management activities
- Functions as a Supervisor of a business unit
- Recommends and communicates goals.
- Directs operations to ensure the achievement of required results
- Develops, recommends and implements operational plans and procedures
- Trains, coaches and leads staff
- Prepares and/or reviews performance appraisals.
- Conducts performance review meetings
- May recommend and/or implement employment actions, including employment/termination, corrective action, promotions/demotions, salary changes, etc.
- Serves as a contributing member of project team(s), or leader of project team(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
