About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead our Container Platforms Engineering and Operations team. This role combines technical leadership with people management responsibilities, overseeing a team of 10+ professionals (both FTEs and contractors). The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, roadmap development, and execution for our container platforms, ensuring reliability and scalability for critical applications on prim today, and cloud tomorrow (AWS/Azure).

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineering
• Strong experience with OpenShift (on-prem and bare metal).
• Diverse Technical Leadership across diverse platforms Rancher, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Proven ability to lead large technical teams (strategy & HR responsibilities)
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Ability to earn trust and influence technical teams.
• A go-getter with a proactive mindset driving technology initiatives
• Strong strategic thinker with hands-on technical credibility.
• Skilled in navigating complex environments and driving results.
• Relationship builder who will aid application owners toward future state container engineering platform that meets enterprise standards.

Nice To Haves

• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure) highly preferred.
• Financial services/banking experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for container platforms (1–2 years horizon).
• Architect solutions for OpenShift deployments on bare metal and on-prem environments.
• Lead modernization initiatives, including Rancher migration and future platform enhancements.
• Oversee design, build, and operations of OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement automation frameworks for provisioning, scaling, and patching.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and incident response for mission-critical workloads.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to integrate networking, security, and governance.
• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements
• Implement best practices for security, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and contractors.
• Foster collaboration and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Drive initiatives independently and ensure alignment with organizational goals
