About The Position

Ranken Technical College has been helping students experience success for 100 years. Ranken is more than a college; it's an experience that provides students with the knowledge and training necessary to launch and maintain successful careers in fields such as automotive, construction, electrical, information technology and manufacturing. The position involves preparing for and teaching Information Technology courses and conducting labs as assigned by the division chair of the Information Technology department. The instructor will develop curriculum, actively teach, evaluate students, maintain safe work practices, and assist in developing and maintaining the curriculum and syllabi used in the department.

Requirements

• Associate degree with 5 years' industry experience.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, Windows Server basics).
• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware components and demonstrated hands-on ability to troubleshoot, assemble, and repair PCs.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with 3 years of industry experience.
• IT Certifications including CompTIA, Microsoft, Amazon and/or Cisco brands.
• Experience in IT help desk or customer service.
• Competent with AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficient with Cisco Routers and Switches.
• Experience teaching in an academic setting.
• Strong industry connections.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for and teaches Information Technology courses and conducts labs as assigned by the division chair of the Information Technology department.
• Develop curriculum and perform duties as an instructor, teaching in a lecture/classroom environment.
• Actively teach and evaluate students for technical and work ethic grades, reporting grades and attendance in a timely manner.
• Maintain safe work practices, tools, and equipment, keeping environment clean and organized.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the curriculum and syllabi used in the department.
• Enforces Ranken's safety standards.
• Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards.
• Demonstrate positive work ethic traits, be a role model and motivate students.
