About The Position

Looking for a candidate to work for a manufacturing company and complete a remediation of the environment with the intention of meeting TIFAX compliance. Seeking a highly experienced, self-directed IT Infrastructure Specialist for a contract position. The primary mission is to assess, stabilize, and modernize a complex, on-premise manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing foundational IT practices to get the environment into a better, more manageable state, preparing it for future scalability and the enhancement of cloud services such as Microsoft 365. Process & Standards Development: Establish and document new IT processes and procedures to shift the operational posture from reactive to proactive. Evaluate and recommend appropriate modernization pathways for legacy applications (e.g., rehost, replatform, retire, replace). Build infrastructure standards and automate baseline policy enforcement, particularly through Group Policy. Develop and execute formal change management processes to minimize operational disruption. Infrastructure & Asset Management: Establish a comprehensive program for asset and patch management, including asset discovery, ongoing lifecycle management, and processes for both proactive (scheduled) and reactive (critical) patching. Identify all end-of-life/end-of-support (EOL/EOS) hardware and software and develop a prioritized remediation and replacement plan. Core Infrastructure Implementation: Implement and configure Active Directory for centralized authentication and workstation management. Implement centralized core services, including DNS and DHCP for automated IP allocation and management of static assignments. Demonstrated ability to deploy systems and software at scale in one or more applicable locations. Systems and Environmental Modernizations: Design and implement network segmentation using VLANs to separate corporate, guest, and manufacturing floor traffic. Develop and apply Access Control Lists (ACLs) and firewall rules to enforce security policies. Execute prioritized hardware and software replacements and upgrades to remediate EOL/EOS risks. Architect and implement high-availability and fault-tolerance for critical on-premise systems. Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation of the current environment and all changes made to support long-term management and scalability.
