About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Infrastructure Materials Handler to manage the end-to-end logistics of IT hardware and equipment. This critical role ensures the timely and accurate flow of materials, enabling our IT Infrastructure team to efficiently build and maintain core network and compute infrastructure deployed globally. Working closely with the Shipping & Receiving and Infrastructure Engineering & Deployment teams, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our enterprise, supporting corporate offices, classified spaces, manufacturing facilities, warehousing, and test & evaluation spaces.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, or IT asset management.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including package validation and freight coordination.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (e.g., servers, network devices) weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn inventory management software (e.g., Netbox, Oomnitza, etc) and PackageX.
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot logistical issues efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure hardware components (servers, networking equipment, storage).
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Airtable, Jira) for tracking logistics requests.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating similar warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving & Inventory Management:
  • Receive, inspect, and validate incoming IT Infrastructure hardware and equipment shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Utilize PackageX or similar systems for accurate package validation and auditing.
  • Perform unboxing, asset tagging, and physical inventory intake of all new equipment.
  • Maintain precise inventory records within Netbox, Oomnitza, and other relevant ERP management systems.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Establish a system to monitor and track inventory levels for essential IT consumables (e.g., optics, fiber/copper patch cords, cage nuts), automatically alerting responsible parties when reorder thresholds are met to ensure timely replenishment and prevent shortages.
  • Logistics & Deployment Support:
  • Coordinate and execute the shipping and receiving of IT infrastructure gear to and from new or existing sites.
  • Manage the reclamation, inventory, and redeployment of specialized shipping containers (e.g., Pelican cases).
  • Collaborate with local personnel to facilitate site decommissioning activities and the efficient retrieval of hardware.
  • Process and re-inventory decommissioned hardware for reuse, disposal, or return.
  • Provide ad-hoc logistics support for drop shipments and project-specific needs, including potential on-call assistance for engineers.
  • Manage the logistics for Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes, including packaging, shipping, and tracking.
  • Coordinate international shipments as required, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and proper documentation.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement:
  • Collaborate with Spend and Program Managers to generate reports for budgetary planning and resource allocation related to IT hardware.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure TPMs and Shipping & Receiving stakeholders to identify and implement continuous process improvements in logistics workflows.
  • Provide logistical input to help determine time commitments and resource needs for build teams, ensuring efficient project planning.
