Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management, systems engineering, or a DevOps-focused role.
  • At least 3 years must be in a lead or senior capacity managing cloud-native environments.
  • Extensive experience with the core AWS suite, comfortable discussing complex networking, serverless architecture, and security groups.
  • Deep understanding of firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, and endpoint protection.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related Engineering field.
  • Strong ability to translate "technical debt" and infrastructure needs into business-focused language for leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 990) and the infrastructure required to support high-volume data exchange.
  • Experience utilizing Apache NiFi for automated data routing and transformation, specifically for moving logistics data across disparate systems.
  • Previous experience supporting a high-transaction transportation environment where system uptime directly impacts physical freight movement.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake data warehousing environments and supporting internal Python/SQL technical teams.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a high-performance AWS infrastructure tailored for logistics execution, managing VPCs, EC2 instances, RDS databases, and S3 storage, while ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency (FinOps).
  • Implement and oversee a comprehensive security framework, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption at rest and in transit, and regular vulnerability assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards to protect sensitive 4PL client data.
  • Establish a 24/7 monitoring and observability stack (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic), define critical alerts for system latency and uptime, and lead incident response protocols to ensure zero downtime for transportation management systems and client portals.
  • Act as the technical lead for all external technology partnerships, managing relationships with cloud providers, hardware vendors, and SaaS partners, holding them accountable to SLAs and leading technical evaluations for new integrations.
  • Reduce manual overhead by implementing automation for provisioning and configuration, working alongside the technical team to streamline deployments for SQL, Snowflake, and Python-based tools.
  • Design and regularly test robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring that in the event of a regional outage or system failure, 4PL operations can fail over with minimal RPO and RTO.
