About The Position

The IT Helpdesk Technician at Great Lakes Ace Hardware provides technical support and training to end users across various departments. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues with computer hardware and software, as well as maintaining and developing web resources. The technician will also be responsible for on-call support and may need to travel to different store locations for equipment installation and support.

  • Proven ability to provide phone assistance to users with technical issues
  • High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for store users and technicians, including support for Windows 10/11 PCs, register equipment, bar code scanners, thermal printers, and more.
  • Install, test, and resolve problems with computer hardware and software.
  • Adapt existing software to meet departmental needs.
  • Develop and maintain Intranet and Internet websites.
  • Utilize the help desk ticketing system for tracking issues and resolutions.
  • Provide rotating on-call support during weekends and holidays.
  • Support district managers and Support Center departments as needed.
  • Travel to various locations for equipment installation and support.
