About the position

The IT Help Desk Night Support position is a contract role with the option to hire, primarily focused on providing IT support during night hours. The role involves working remotely and requires availability from Sunday to Thursday, with hours varying between 8-11 PM to 4-7 AM EST. The ideal candidate will have experience in a large corporate environment and be adept at troubleshooting various IT issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine IT phone support on hardware and software utilized by the organization.
  • Troubleshoot network devices such as POS, mobile scanning devices, Android/Zebra, day scanners, and receipt printers.
  • Manage relatively simple hardware, software, or network problems.
  • Resolve more complex issues requiring detailed systems and applications knowledge.
  • Use judgment and decision-making skills to generate work order tickets for issues that cannot be resolved via telephone or email.
  • Provide on-site support for user PCs or workstations when necessary.

Requirements

  • Prior IT support experience working with Windows 7-10 and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with PC connectivity issues and proprietary software support.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix command line support or Cisco command prompt is a plus.
  • Networking and server support experience/training is a plus.
  • Dependable and reliable to work onsite.

Nice-to-haves

  • A+ or NET+ or other IT certifications.
  • Technical or customer service phone support experience.
  • Recent college graduate with an IT degree.
