About The Position

IRT is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Consultant to support advanced testing efforts across small to large-scale healthcare IT projects. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring technical solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and compliance expectations. The QA Consultant will perform comprehensive testing on technical solutions to identify, isolate, and resolve issues. This role requires strong experience in test planning, execution, reporting, and governance within enterprise environments. The consultant will collaborate closely with product management, development teams, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Requirements

  • 3+ years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios
  • 3+ years building and executing test cases within test environments
  • Experience documenting and supporting execution of testing activities
  • Ability to communicate testing status, open issues, and defect details clearly to development teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related field (Relevant experience may substitute for formal education)

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in large enterprise or e-business systems
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid) and related business processes
  • Proficiency in Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience working in both Waterfall (SDLC) and Agile delivery environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, integration, regression, usability, and negative testing
  • Analyze test results and identify root causes of defects
  • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and QA/UAT processes
  • Translate business requirements and policy documentation into executable test scenarios
  • Design and support user interface testing and regression testing tools
  • Test software applications for reliability, stability, and performance
  • Lead quality assessments to identify defects, security vulnerabilities, and optimization opportunities
  • Create QA documentation, reports, and testing artifacts
  • Publish status reports on open issues and communicate findings to development teams
  • Adhere to established QA governance standards and recommend process improvements
  • Participate in reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections
