About the position

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for an IT Field Support Technician position in our Hopkinsville, KY Strategic Marketing Area. This position will be based out of our Hopkinsville, KY office and report to the Manager of IT Field Services. The focus of this position is providing end-user technical support and on-site assistance in challenging environments such as rock quarries and asphalt plants. Responsibilities include supporting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and troubleshooting connectivity issues. This role requires hands-on work, using power tools, running cabling, mounting cameras, and installing equipment like televisions, often in outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, positive technical support to internal customers both remotely and on-site.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues (network, Wi-Fi, cellular, and serial devices).
  • Enter, update, and resolve support tickets while monitoring queues.
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, printers, mobile devices, and other equipment.
  • Use power tools to mount equipment such as cameras, access points, and televisions.
  • Run cabling and perform basic networking tasks.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware, software, and cabling installations.
  • Collaborate with management to provide IT solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions to other IT staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in end-user desktop support or a help desk role.
  • Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience managing Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Proficient in PC troubleshooting, break/fix, and network printer setup.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Fiber/Copper Ethernet).
  • Comfortable working outside in challenging environments like rock quarries and asphalt plants.
  • Experience with power tools and mounting equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
  • Clean driving record and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in diverse environments.
  • Flexible schedule availability.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent IT experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • IT certifications (e.g., A+) preferred; ITIL certification is a plus.
