About The Position

Markon is seeking an experienced IT Enterprise Architecture Modeler to support a mission customer. This position will play a critical role in developing and maintaining a Model-Based IT Enterprise Architecture that informs senior leadership decision-making. This role requires close collaboration with enterprise architects and stakeholders to translate complex IT architectures into authoritative models using industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 12–15 years of relevant experience,OR Master’s degree plus 10–13 years of experience.Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), with demonstrated experience translating architectural concepts into SysML or UML.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, such as UAF, TOGAF, Zachman, and DoDAF.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing executive-level briefings and technical documentation.
  • Ability to analyze IT architecture challenges from multiple technical and organizational perspectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience supporting or working within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • SysML Model Builder Intermediate or Advanced certification.
  • Experience assessing compliance with IT Enterprise Architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, Rational Rhapsody, or Genesys.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and evolve a model-based IT enterprise architecture aligned with the client’s architectural vision.
  • Collaborate with IT Enterprise Architects to define required model views and identify necessary data inputs.
  • Work with mission partners and stakeholders unfamiliar with modeling to translate existing IT architectures into structured models.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams, including content providers and consumers, developers, engineers, and business analysts.
  • Apply enterprise architecture frameworks to ensure architectural consistency, traceability, and usability.
  • Support leadership decision-making through clear, accurate model-based products and visualizations.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement in enterprise architecture modeling practices.
