The IT Enterprise Architect at the Division of Technology Services (DTS) is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining a comprehensive view of the enterprise technology strategy, architecture standards, and IT roadmap. This position involves collaborating with senior leadership and various stakeholders to ensure that technology strategies align with the goals of executive branch agencies. The Enterprise Architect will provide expert guidance on technology solutions, manage technology risks, and support the Architectural Review Board process, all while working in a hybrid environment that includes both in-office and telework days.

  • Translate business strategy into IT architecture roadmaps, ensuring alignment with targeted business outcomes.
  • Engage and build relationships with business and IT stakeholders across all levels.
  • Communicate the value of Enterprise Architecture and its services, promoting architectural thinking across the organization.
  • Drive the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture team's services and operating model; coach and mentor other architects and stakeholders.
  • Architect new solutions and review major IT projects to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and goals.
  • Define and develop enterprise architecture standards and principles; manage exceptions.
  • Analyze technology trends and disruptions, assessing their potential impact on the organization.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies, driving innovation through agile and lean approaches.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to IT teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify solutions for complex technical problems.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture.
  • Determine resource needs for IT solutions; discuss requirements with end-users and provide recommendations.
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, system analysis, information systems, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience in IT, encompassing at least three disciplines such as business analysis, solution architecture, application development, cybersecurity, database management, or operations in a multi-tier environment.
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), SOA, APIs, microservices, and event-driven IT.
  • Knowledge of open data principles, predictive analytics, and information management practices.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture tools, frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), graphical models, and ITIL.
  • Understanding of agile and lean principles, methodologies, and frameworks, including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, engagement, and consulting skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF, Zachman, CISSP) are desirable.
