As a participant in the Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program, you will be cultivating professional skills and performing professional level work. You won’t just be sitting in meetings and shadowing all summer; you’ll be actively contributing and doing the same work as other FirstEnergy employees on your team. You’ll receive on-the-job training and challenging assignments. You will also be assigned a Supervisor, a Coach/Mentor and a dedicated IT Intern Program Coordinator to help you maximize your learning and growth throughout your summer… and beyond. Internships with FirstEnergy are full-time, paid opportunities spanning 14 weeks. You must be actively enrolled in an accredited university or college. The IT Electrical Engineering Intern will be performing the role of a SCADA Modeling Specialist. The primary accountabilities of this internship include design, development, and support of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and grid monitoring displays used as part of FirstEnergy’s Energy Management System (EMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS). Note: This opportunity is on-site and will work in-person four days/week. As such, you must be local to the Cleveland/Akron/Canton (Ohio) or Fairmont/Morgantown (West Virginia) area
