About The Position
The IT Director (Technology Support) position at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is a strategic-level role that plays a crucial part in planning and directing the administration, operation, and statewide service delivery of all information systems to the 17,000 employees of OHA and the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), as well as the clients they serve. This position assists the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) in setting the strategic direction for technology use to support OHA and ODHS programmatic and administrative functions. The IT Director is responsible for creating tactical plans and project plans, and may be involved in statewide planning efforts. Additionally, the role involves initiating, developing, and implementing programs, policies, and procedures within the Office of Information Services (OIS). As a member of the OIS executive staff, the IT Director oversees the unit that provides front-line technical support for ODHS, OHA, and their related service programs. This includes directing infrastructure and customer service functions such as desktop support, service desk operations, asset support, change management, and coordination with the state data center. The IT Director also represents OIS in various statewide and central/shared services groups, including governance committees and steering committees, contributing to decision-making processes that affect technology services across the state.
