Under the general direction of the chief technology officer, leads the work of the Department of Educational Technology, which includes defining, leading, and supervising staff in implementing priorities and initiatives centered on developing rigorous, interactive, and technologies that transform teaching and learning, and serves as the department’s operational and technical leader, supervising and leading department staff to guide, inform and train school staff in the effective and innovative use of technology to instruct students. Collaborates and conducts needs assessments, and sets program objectives aligned with district and education industry trends to meet the needs of schools and staff. Supervises and provides leadership to department staff. Collaborates with a variety of offices (e.g. Teaching and Learning, Districtwide Professional Growth, Strategic Initiatives) and participates in the planning processes for districtwide professional development efforts. Leads the review of educational technology assessments, product purchases, and inventory (i.e., TechMod, interactive boards, devices). Develops, maintains, and implements procedures and process workflows for technology. Leads the design and growth of the professional development programs (e.g., learning management system (PowerSchool), Microsoft, Google, online software tools) for school leadership teams and staff that fosters impactful integration of technology, content, and instructional practices and assessment. Collaborates in cross-departmental reviews of technology impacts as it relates to district policy and regulations when needed. Collaborates with various teams within and outside the department for budget development, fiscal management, grant management and procurement processes. Partners with key stakeholders including central services staff, school-based staff, parents, business and postsecondary partners, and community members.
