Location : This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). General Summary of Job Responsibilities The Platform Data Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our data platform using Databricks and other technologies within Microsoft Azure cloud. The incumbant will be responsible for data pipeline design and implementation, data storage solutions, data quality, performance optimization, and automation. Provides implementation, management of 2nd and 3rd Level technical support services to staff and customers on hardware and software platforms. Troubleshoots difficult infrastructure and application platform problems which can involve other groups such as server, network, and information security. Utilize automation to remove wasted effort and improve overall experience. The Platform Engineer responds and follows-up on internal and external customer support problems.

Requirements

  • Experience developing and maintaining Azure Data Factory Pipelines and Data Flows
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure and Databricks
  • Knowledge of data catalog tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
  • Proficiency in data processing languages, including SQL, Powershell, and PySpark

  • Bachelor's Degree in in a technical field and 2 - 4 years of experience in Supporting hardware or software platforms.
  • Associate's Degree in in a technical field and 4 - 6 years of experience in Supporting hardware or software platforms.
  • High School Diploma and 6 - 8 years of experience in Supporting hardware or software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines that integrate structured and unstructured data from diverse sources -including API's, databases, and third-party platforms
  • Collaborate with development teams to support cloud-native applications
  • Able to do moderately complex troubleshooting and incident resolution
  • Ensure security and compliance best practices are followed in infrastructure and platform design and configuration
  • Document system configurations and operational
  • Support infrastructure and/or application platform operations, performance monitoring and alerting
  • Assist in deploying and managing application or infrastructure components in an on premise or cloud environment
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and/or application deployment processes
  • Learn and implement best practices for security and compliance
