About The Position

The IT Cybersecurity Specialist position within the Department of Defense involves overseeing and managing various Cyber Security Programs. The role requires planning, documenting, and supporting information system security programs, policies, and procedures, while providing analytical and technical advice in the areas of information assurance and security. The specialist will also advise and brief superiors on sensitive policy issues, make recommendations in critical areas, and initiate authoritative professional actions.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Experience in cybersecurity, information assurance (risk management framework), and related policies within the DoD and DON.
• Experience coordinating Risk Management Framework authorization packages.
• Experience performing detailed analyses and providing recommendations to senior leadership on cybersecurity issues.
• Skill in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
