About The Position

The job of IT CTE Technician II is done for the purpose/s of implementing Career and Technical Education(CTE) initiatives, projects and tasks; deploying, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining, repair and close CTE technologies throughout the district; and coach and train on technology use throughout CTE. This job reports to Director of Information Technology or Designee Esse ntial Functions Assists in the support of all IT Department technology tasks, projects and initiatives throughout the district for the purpose of providing technical assistance, advice and support. Assumes the principle role and/or serve on a team with other personnel throughout the district for the purpose of embracing technical and logistical directions from/to a colleague. Coaches on technology use throughout the district to department staff, vendors & contractors, employees, community, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the effective use of district computer related resources and improving work efficiency and effectiveness. Deploys installs, configures, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs and closes CTE technologies throughout the district for the purpose of providing technical assistance, advice and support. Develops and prepares user materials for the purpose of providing instruction and reference. Implements CTE initiatives, projects and tasks, using approved business procedures and under the direction of the Information Technology Director or his designee for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users. Integrates information technology in all CTE learning, teaching, office and schooling environments throughout all locations where the district has an identified business need (e.g. face-to-face, virtual and hybrid models, etc.) for the purpose of improving work efficiency and effectiveness. Interacts with students, administrators, employees, department staff, vendors, contractors and community for the purpose of cultivating supportive and informative relationships. Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail. Researches and supports new and emerging technologies as required y the department (e.g. collaborative productivity tools, immersive video, social platforms, IPv6, etc.) for the purpose of recommending purchases, vendors/suppliers and being knowledgeable on developments in the industry. Responds to inquiries from a variety of CTE sources (e.g. staff, administrators, school site personnel, outside vendors and service providers, etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance and support. Supports the coaching of technology use, to CTE department staff, vendors and contractors, employees and community everywhere the district has an identified business need for the purpose of ensuring the effective use of district computer related resources and improving work efficiency and effectiveness. Trains CTE staff, students, & community on technology use throughout the district for the purpose of embracing continuing education and ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing operating systems and application software. Troubleshoots malfunctions of CTE computers and peripherals, network hardware and/or software applications within the District's local and wide area networks, telephones and security systems (e.g. servers, hubs, routers, network protocols, layer 3 switches, cabling, G5 towers, MacBook Pros, etc.) for the purpose of resolving operational issues and restoring services.

Requirements

  • SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; classifying data and/or information; using pertinent software applications; customer service.
  • KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.
  • Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: current generation office software; codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies.
  • ABILITY is required to schedule activities; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.
