About The Position

The IT Core Systems Architect - Shared Services is responsible for developing a process for managing core conversion projects for IT to ensure an all-inclusive, sound and repeatable cadence within IT for current and future core conversion activities. This role provides oversight of core conversion tasks, deliverables, and risks, reporting to IT management. The architect acts as a Point-of-Contact for IT Shared Services in Project Management Office (PMO) Risk Assessment activities, ensuring core system and infrastructure impact is identified. Key functions include assisting in identifying IT tasks for project oversight, ensuring system integration plans meet functional requirements and specifications, and potentially leading discovery sessions on core system/process gaps with IT and business partners. The position also involves assisting support teams with vendor engagement, collaborating with other IT support teams on risk assessment, engaging with engineering and development teams, providing guidance for IT testing, identifying knowledge gaps and making training recommendations, ensuring IT control guidelines are followed, seeking continual improvement opportunities, creating documentation, and participating in internal audits, regulatory exams, and vendor due diligence activities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of banking experience working with core and ancillary systems.
  • 10+ years of experience managing application systems.
  • 10+ years working with project management principals
  • 10+ years of experience working in the IT/IS industry.
  • Expert knowledge of all Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent team building skills with the ability to work independently and with others
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior and follow the Code of Conduct.
  • Strong organizational ability
  • Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Cleartouch and Premier expertise is also preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of IT operating systems, file transfer protocols, networks, bank auxiliary systems (ie. ATM, credit, debit, payment systems, GL/Accounting systems) peripherals and banking regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing a process for managing core conversion projects for IT to ensure an all-inclusive, sound and repeatable cadence within IT for current and future core conversion activities.
  • Provides oversight of core conversion tasks, deliverables and risks to report and present to IT management throughout core conversion projects as needed.
  • Point-of-Contact representing IT Shared Services areas in Project Management Office (PMO) Risk Assessment activities to ensure core system and infrastructure impact is identified in the planning of PMO sponsored projects.
  • Assists the Shared Services Project Support team in identifying IT tasks for project oversight within the approved PMO projects and accepted Business Unit Initiatives (BUI) related to core system infrastructure.
  • Ensure that system integration plans meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications of the core system/infrastructure
  • May lead discovery sessions on core system/ process gaps with IT and business partners to close identified gaps within the department.
  • May assist the support teams in engaging vendors to assess issues and or gather information related to core conversions and escalates issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IT support teams to assess risks to their assigned initiatives offering best practice recommendations as needed.
  • May engage with other IT teams (ie. engineering and development) on their assigned tasks while offering related best practice recommendations for the core system conversions projects.
  • Provides guidance to IT core support teams in coordination of IT testing of core system projects.
  • Assists support managers in identifying knowledge gaps in subport areas and makes training recommendations as needed
  • Working with IT support and governance teams, ensures IT control guidelines and policies are followed appropriately.
  • Looks for continual improvement opportunities for supporting the core system solution map and makes recommendations to IT leadership across the infrastructure as appropriate.
  • Creates documentation in accordance with the IT document control process as needed.
  • Participate in internal audits and regulatory exams, as needed.
  • Participate in vendor due diligence activities, as needed.
  • May assists the IT Governance team in coordination and completion of initiatives to resolve audit deficiencies related to core system infrastructure.
