We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Cloud Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure & Operations team. This isn't just an architect role; we need a true subject matter expert who will be our go-to resource for everything Azure. The ideal candidate is a proactive 'doer' who will own the management, optimization, and security of our entire Azure cloud environment. You will be responsible for ensuring our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, performant, and cost-effective, while also getting in the weeds to implement solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and automate operations.

  • Actively manage and maintain our Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including Virtual Machines, App Services, SQL Databases, and Storage.
  • Continuously monitor performance and costs, implementing optimizations to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Lead our IaC strategy by developing, maintaining, and enhancing our infrastructure deployments using Terraform and ARM templates.
  • Automate routine operational tasks and processes using PowerShell and Azure CLI to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
  • Serve as the primary driver for our cloud security posture.
  • Implement and enforce Azure security best practices using tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Azure Key Vault, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
  • Manage identity and access controls through Azure AD, PIM, and Conditional Access policies.
  • Act as the ultimate escalation point for all Azure-related incidents.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for complex issues impacting our cloud services.
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are designed and deployed following cloud best practices.
  • Configure and manage comprehensive monitoring and alerting for our Azure environment using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to provide insights into system health, performance, and security compliance.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience directly managing, optimizing, and securing an enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Deep, demonstrable knowledge of core Azure services: Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking (VNet, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall), Azure Storage, and Azure AD.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing Azure security controls and services.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Expert-level scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell and the Azure CLI.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500).
