The IT Buyer will help the TU Procure deliver optimal cost, product or service quality, and value to TransUnion. This will be accomplished by working across multiple stakeholder groups to develop category strategies. As a key advisor to the Procurement process, you would consult on strategically selecting and building the right supplier relationships, negotiating the best contracts, and governing contracts effectively for TransUnion technology needs.

Requirements

  • BA degree and/or a minimum of 3+ experience in information technology procurement, contracts, and supplier management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Experienced negotiator, having worked in global environments.

Nice To Haves

  • CPSM certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Experience interfacing with IT Asset Management (ITAM).
  • Experience managing and negotiating supplier agreements in M&A scenarios.
  • Broad experience negotiating complex supplier contracts.
  • Experience with HCM and Financial Management software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze spend patterns to identify opportunities to reduce or eliminate cost and/or operational variance in hardware, software, and cloud areas.
  • Identify, reconcile, and prioritize product and service procurement needs and deliverables in collaboration with internal customers across TransUnion locations.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and marketplace developments, and develop appropriate strategies to capitalize on them; facilitate the evaluation of products and services.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring full understanding of obligations and deliverables by affected parties.
  • Provide customer service; build strategic relationships with internal customers and operational leaders; assist with additional duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting various financial metrics related to purchasing.
  • Effectively communicate negotiation results to senior management.
  • Innovate, plan, and execute strategic initiatives that will strengthen quality, drive value, and enhance relationships with TransUnion supplier partnerships.
  • Manage projects appropriately to meet timescales, work with stakeholders on business cases, and make supplier recommendations.
