About The Position

We have an opening for an undergraduate IT Business Systems Analyst Intern supporting the Enterprise Service Management Office (eSMO) within the Livermore Information Technology (LivIT) Program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with IT teams to document effective solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities. In this role you will Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to support project initiatives. Create and maintain documentation, including process flows, user guides, and training materials. Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for business process improvements. Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements through customer interviews, surveys, and workshops. Collaborate with IT teams to develop and design technology solutions that meet business needs. Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure technology solutions developed meet business requirements. Assist in evaluating new tools and software solutions. Propose recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Attend meetings and contribute to discussions regarding project status and updates. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). See Additional Information section below for details.
  • Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
