About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4 or more years of functional experience in IT and technology solution implementation.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of IT operations and functions.
  • Ability to translate between technical and business language.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn business operations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence and break down silos within the organization.
  • Experience in presenting to executive-level employees.
  • Problem-solving and conflict negotiation skills.
  • Sound independent judgment in decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Aggregate and publish technology portfolio information for accurate forecasting and budgeting.
  • Partner with the project/program/portfolio management office to manage the technology project portfolio.
  • Ensure project managers are knowledgeable about business teams and their objectives.
  • Engage as a project stakeholder, evaluating project efforts against business strategic plans.
  • Facilitate technology-related governance committees.
  • Work closely with city executive leadership to keep them informed about technology portfolios.
  • Gain knowledge of business operations and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Develop ideas and research emerging technologies.
  • Coach department directors and senior management on technology strategies and needs.
  • Partner with business for effective change management in technology initiatives.
  • Create departmental strategic plans and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps.
  • Evaluate independent department technology initiatives for alignment with citywide strategies.
  • Advocate for departments' objectives to IT.
  • Perform triage and vetting of new technology requests from business teams.
  • Facilitate service level agreements and manage escalations.
  • Track onboarding, offboarding, and transfers of city employees.
  • Manage access requests for departments.
  • Educate departments about processes and roles.
  • Conduct annual technology budget planning with departments.
  • Serve as a liaison for technology-related financial transactions.
