IT Business Analyst Internship Location: Little Rock, AR Internship Duration: Summer 2026; June 1st – August 7th, 2026 Position Summary This intern position provides a thorough introductory role into the IT Analyst function at Simmons Bank. The intern will gain experience with many aspects of IT and bank processes, especially at the data and software application level. This position offers excellent opportunities for the individual to develop their communication and technical skills in a fast paced, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Computer skills including MS Office products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
  • Programming Languages: C#, .Net, Java, SQL
  • Working knowledge of SQL, RDBMS, and NoSQL-type database management systems.
  • Ability to write routine reports, simple-to-business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively speak, respond to questions, and present information to the following: one-on-one /small groups, and managers.
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and planning skills with the ability to set priorities.
  • Must possess excellent telephone and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with IT and other Business Units to analyze application and platform functionality
  • Identify system requirements and specifications, prepare documentation standards for testing, implementation, integration, or enhancements
  • Actively participate in implementation and user acceptance testing process
  • Participate in AGILE work programs, including sprint planning, SDLC methodologies, software coding and testing
  • Provide end-user support, researching issues, interaction with software/hardware vendors
  • Ensure practices align with documented department standards, best business practices, applicable laws, and regulations
  • Participate in decommissioning process of retired or legacy systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow sound and proven development practices and software development life cycle methodologies throughout the product development.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications.
