Unum is changing, and we’re excited about what’s next. Join us. General Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive IT Business Analyst to join our technology team. In this role, you will support mission-critical platforms, collaborate with Product Owners and engineering teams, and ensure high-quality requirements flow through the Agile delivery lifecycle. This position combines production support (Run) with new feature development (Grow) in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an Agile environment
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Rally, ServiceNow, Clarity
  • Merlin platform (mainframe database, ADI)
  • AWS

Nice To Haves

  • Scrum Master or SAFe experience
  • Experience supporting enterprise platforms
  • IIBA certification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define, refine, and prioritize backlog items
  • Write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure backlog items meet Definition of Ready/Done standards
  • Analyze business processes and translate them into actionable requirements
  • Support incidents and enhancement requests through ServiceNow
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and planning sessions
  • Coordinate and support acceptance testing and defect management
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure ALM tools are up to date
  • Serve as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Agile and BA practices
